Digital Citizenship In Early Years Education

In the era of digital transformation, it is paramount to educate children beginning at a young age about how to become a good digital citizen as well as to improve their digital literacies.

DiCE project aims to train kindergarten teachers on how to teach digital literacy and digital citizenship to kids between 3 and 6 years of age.

The training kit prepared includes several digital elements such as lesson plans, videos, digital games and other digital visuals to guide teachers and parents, and provide them with resources as well as to train kids.

General Objectives

  • GO1: to educate children at kindergarten age (3-6 years old) on how to become a good digital citizen and improve their digital literacies
  • GO2: to train kindergarten teachers on how teach digital literacy and digital citizenship to kids between ages of 3 and 6
  • GO3: to prepare an educational toolkit for kindergarten and pre-school teachers, that consists of a variety of digital elements for teaching digital citizenship and digital literacy
  • GO4: to educate both kindergarten teachers and parents about digital citizenship skills and digital citizenship in the early years
  • GO5: to promote digital literacy and citizenship as part of school curricula
