Celebrating Erasmus Week with STANDOUTEDU 4 – Digital Tools You Need to Explore

STANDOUTEDU is delighted to mark Erasmus+ week, starting on 14th October, with a series of events that highlight our commitment to the programme’s goals. One of our key focus areas during the week will be digitalisation, a priority that aligns with our broader mission to transform education through innovative technologies.

At STANDOUTEDU, we actively support the Erasmus+ mission by leading projects that leverage digital tools to revolutionise learning. Our efforts focus on enhancing digital integration and pedagogy, ensuring that educational institutions remain competitive in a rapidly changing world. Through partnerships with local and international organisations, we work to improve access to education, promote digital literacy, and drive digital innovation across all levels of education.

For this purpose, we present four projects that inspire and innovate with their digital tools, showcasing our dedication to transforming education through Erasmus+. Each project demonstrates how digitalization can enhance learning, improve access, and foster collaboration across various educational levels, further aligning with our commitment to driving digital transformation. Through these initiatives, we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in education, ensuring that both educators and learners are equipped with the tools they need for the future.

The TeachBlue project will develop 360° underwater videos to enhance marine and ocean literacy from an early age. This project contributes to an innovative, future-oriented Toolkit aimed at supporting early education teachers’ professional development. By equipping teachers with the knowledge, skills, and competences necessary to teach young students about marine life, TeachBlue ensures that ocean literacy becomes an integral part of education.

The Toolkit will include a Teacher’s Curriculum & Handbook, a Teacher’s Guide on Educational Activities, a Board Game, and five immersive 360° underwater videos produced using advanced underwater cameras. These virtual environments will provide participants with a unique opportunity to explore underwater ecosystems and engage with captivating virtual content, promoting a deeper understanding and appreciation of marine life.

The Houses4Autism project aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and key competencies of adult educators, enabling them to train individuals with autism to live independently. By simulating home environments and everyday living situations, this project supports the development of essential daily living skills without the need for constant parental or caregiver supervision.

The Houses4Autism Educational Toolkit includes a comprehensive Curriculum and Handbook, providing structured guidance for educators. It also features a VR game that offers immersive, interactive scenarios, simulating real-life challenges within home environments. This game allows users to navigate various situations, fostering understanding and empathy while helping individuals with autism build the skills necessary for independent living.

The Competence+ Diversity/Inclusion (Comp+ D/I) project aims to create a more inclusive and equitable education and training environment for public transport staff and trainees by focusing on diversity and inclusion. This project seeks to benefit individuals from all backgrounds, fostering empathy and understanding toward different cultures and circumstances.

The project will produce a workshop on Diversity and Inclusion, paired with a corresponding VR training scenario. Additionally, it will develop the Competence+ Quest computer game to enhance accessibility to the entire COMP+ training experience and adapt and enhance the COMP+ learning platform. The game will include a system for awarding badges, providing feedback, and creating storyboards for all levels, along with character and environment designs, offering an engaging and effective way to improve training outcomes.

DIVINEF Project

The DIVINEF project aims to foster inclusion and diversity within professional activities by helping professionals integrate these principles into their work. The project focuses on three key public profiles: people with disabilities, NEETs, and migrants and refugees.

Through field research, the project will develop training programs that address both the theoretical and practical aspects of inclusion and diversity. A MOOC will serve as the central hub, hosting research, training materials, and interactive content. This will provide an accessible platform where professionals can enhance their understanding through tailored educational modules.

At STANDOUTEDU, digitalisation isn’t just a focus for Erasmus+ week – it’s part of who we are. By driving forward projects that merge education with technology, we’re making sure that schools, teachers, and students are ready to meet the demands of today’s digital world. By working on these projects, not only we improve access to education but also open up new ways of learning and collaborating. As we celebrate Erasmus+ week, we’re proud to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in education and continue playing a key role in its digital transformation.
