An Innovative ESD Key Competences Training Model For Teachers In The Frames Of The 4SDG – Quality Education For ALL
The Competences4ESD project aims to redefine key competences of teachers within the framework of 4SDG – Quality Education for All, by developing a novel Key Competences Training Model. It seeks to empower teachers to effectively involve their learners and school communities in sustainability discourses, equipping them with essential ESD key competences.
This project addresses the need for structured training and professional development in education for sustainable development (ESD), fostering critical thinking and systematic development of values for a sustainable future. The impact includes enhanced teacher competences, improved digital skills, and increased educational quality, ultimately promoting sustainable practices within school communities.
General Objectives:
- GO1: Gain in-depth knowledge on teachers’ key competence development needs for contributing to sustainable development by 2030 (UN 17 SDGs).
- GO2: Develop, pilot-test, and validate an ESD Key Competences Training Model for VET trainers to train teachers to meet current and future needs for quality education for all.
- GO3: Support educational efforts through digitalized and creative training and learning for professional development on ESD key competences.
- GO4: Assign a key role to teachers to shape sustainable development in learners and school communities by promoting action-oriented transformative learning.
