The Green Urban Paths (G&PS) project is an Erasmus+ initiative focused on adult education, designed to drive sustainable urban development through green education and educational tourism. Launched in March 2023, this 31-month project, now extended to conclude on December 27, 2024, is a collaborative effort among six European partner organizations. Each partner brings unique expertise to create impactful solutions and promote green practices in urban spaces.
The G&PS project aims to develop a toolkit for sustainable urban practices, encouraging environmentally friendly habits across Europe. Through real-life applications, it demonstrates how urban areas can adopt sustainable methods in an accessible and engaging way. The initiative has drawn together a diverse consortium from Denmark – Køge Business College , Italy – TQC SRL, Italy – Youth Europe Service , Spain – Associació Educativa i Cultural Blue Beehive, Germany – COMPARATIVE RESEARCH NETWORK EV, and Cyprus – STANDO LTD, with each partner contributing to the development of educational tools that will inspire sustainable practices in cities across Europe.
Designed for educators, operators, and mediators, G&PS centres on enhancing skills in adult education, supporting digital transformation, and fostering accessibility. Its objectives include increasing skills and accessibility in adult education, equipping participants with innovative knowledge in educational tours, digital, and theatrical storytelling, and facilitating the co-creation of marketable green education products. Through international partnerships in theatre, design, digital programming, and tourism, the project aims to develop sustainable products that can be applied across Europe, creating a shared platform for green practices and an environmentally conscious community. Additionally, G&PS seeks to share best practices by engaging diverse European communities in a collective output through training sessions, project meetings, and multiplier events.
The project’s three main components reflect its commitment to accessible and engaging environmental education:
These theatrically guided tours led by actors will highlight sustainable urban trends. Five green paths are being developed across Koege, Berlin, Alicante, Nicosia, Potenza, and Brindisi to encourage environmental awareness and engagement.
An interactive online platform will provide access to research materials and virtual tours of the educational paths. Integrated with a mobile app, the hub allows users to explore these paths digitally.
A user-friendly mobile application offers real-time content, maps, and games, incorporating augmented reality for an immersive experience. Available on iOS and Android, the app supports a guided tour experience enhanced by digital elements.
